Use of Real Names:
While not an inviolable rule, for reasons of privacy, decency, potential liability, and protection of those presumed innocent, as well as the assurance of unbiased advice (we are not your attorney, remember?) the use of real names in submitted questions should be avoided when at all possible.
This is a public forum where you are asking street-corner advice from people who are assumed not to be professionals or have any special knowledge. Anyone can read what you say here... Including the person or entity you are talking about, or their lawyers. Not naming names is almost always in your best interest.
If you want a guideline, imagine yourself coming back to ask a second question: "I'm being threatened with a lawsuit by someone who says I libeled them on the internet. What should I do?"
